China > From Shanghai to Xinjiang
Our Departure date is not 100% confirmed but should be around middle of April. Why ? April weather will be warmer and hopefully
will allow us to camp outside along the road. Our goal is to reach Xinjiang in about 1 month...Depending on weather condition and how smooth are Chinese roads with us...Oh and yes hopefully not
too much mechanical issues. We are going to visit as more World Heritage site as we can.
The first step will be Moganshan to say hi and good bye to our local friend over there and to recover from our farewell party
;)
Then we will follow small roads through Huangshan, Zhanjiajie, Hangzhong, Lanzhou, Xining, Haixi, Ulumuqi and then leave China by
Korgos border. Estimated 10,000KM only to cross China...
Central Asia > From Kazakhstan to Russia
Central Asia will be the hardest part for us...Our bikes are made to be used on Highway ( that`s what i read on the Benelli manual users ;(. The Kawa of Nicolas is be the same story.
So in the order, we are going to drive : 1 > Kazakhstan 2 > Kyrgyzstan 3 > Tajikistan 4> Uzbekistan and 5> Russia.
The highlight of the Stans countries will be the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan.
The M41, known informally and more commonly as the Pamir Highway is a road traversing the Pamir Mountains through Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia. It is the only continuous route through the difficult terrain of the mountains and serves as the main supply route to Tajikistan's . The route has been in use for millennia, as there are a limited number of viable routes through the high Pamir Mountains. The road formed one link of the ancient Silk Road trade route.
We will finish the Pamir highay in Dushanbe where Marc an old friend is working there since recently. Hopefully bikes will make the job until there.
Europe is calling : From Russia to France
In the order : Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and finally FRANCEEEEE
We heard Georgia is a great country for mountain rides, so we will make a small detour and visit some old wineries, drink some wines and ride again and again until Turkey.
Turkey has a lot to see and the country is pretty big. Goreme will probably be the highlight.
Then lets make it along the coast with awesome sea view , sea food, beaches and good hospitality ;)
