The Goreme national park is part of the Unesco World heritage list since 1985 and while watching our pics, you will understand why !
The park is well known, for his `fairy chimney`, this special rock formation who was years ago home to locals.
The alarm at 3.30am this morning was difficult but once you are above the Goreme park at 800 meters altitude in the balloon with a terrific sunrise then you keep silent and no words can describe the beauty of the scene. So i recommend you to check the photo gallery below. Keep your eyes open :)
The 1 hour flight was super smooth and we landed few kms north from our departure spot. It is pricy (130euro/head) but once you are in Goreme, you just do it ! This morning the sky was counting 100 balloons, we got our flying certificate and we were off for a trekking in the park.
Later on, we took the bike and went 40kms away to visit an underground city called Derinkuyu.
Cappadocia, the name of this area contains several historical underground cities, carved out of a unique geological formation.
The cities contained food stores, kitchens, stalls, churches, wine and oil presses, ventilation shaft, wells and religious school. This underground town has at least eight levels and depth of 85 m and have sheltered thousands of people.
To end this great day off, we decided to go on 4 wheels exploring the Goreme park. Lets try to see what Powaaa team can do with 4 wheels :)
