Here we go, Xiahe town and his famous Monastery, called Labrang Monastery in Tibetan. Labrang Monastery is home to the largest number of monks outside of Tibet.
Monks are very nice. We met Jimmy, who lives here for 20 years and pray everyday. He kindly invite us to his ceremony tomorrow but roads are calling us as you know.
So we parked the bikes outside and went to chase after the best spot for pictures. We were lucky and met nice people which allow us great pixsh. A quick soccer game between 2 temples with local kids and we decided to explore the grassland 10km away...On our way, we met Oblin (thats what we understood from his name). His chinese was not chinese in fact and we cannot get any words. After 1 minute, we made a deal for accommodation and food...His house was...heuuuuu how to say, very basic...No shower, no electricity, no toilet but 30 sheeps, 1 horse and few cows...He showed us his land and we had a walk into his grassland (thats what we are looking for - powaaaaa)..
Diner time, with some kind of flour + water + i don't know and time to sleep (anyway nothing else to do). The night was a kind of difficult, the wood floor, the noisy dogs and the cold, very cold night (-2c).
Breakfast time, we played our own game with milk and chocolate powder, then time to say byebye but not before a picture from the drone with all the family....And believe me or not but the drone disappear in the sky and when my iPhone shows up (Parrot drone Disconnected), it was too late and it was already somewhere above the clouds. 8 minutes later, because i know the battery life, everybody was looking for after it in the grassland but unfortunately we never found it...Too bad, my 700RMB Parrot drone went back to his hometown (the sky)...
Finally we hit the road around 10.30am toward our next destination Qinghai lake.
