April 17th & 18th - Hubei dirty roads

After finalizing all the details to ship Nicolas`s spare part in Shennongjia (our next destination in 2 days) with the Zhangjiajie motorbike laoban, we had beautiful roads about 1 hours and then it became dirty and not good at all for our bikes, so we decided to use the highway (The kawa and the benelli loves highway recently )...But after few KM, traffic jam in a tunnel and we do not like to get stuck in tunnel but in the same time, no choice for us to enjoy the situation and talk with the locals ( they were pretty surprised to see 2 laowai with motorbike on the highway (especially when its strictly forbidden in China). But then we have to exit and take small roads, very smalls roads, and sometimes too small for big trucks (as you can see)...Too tired, we stopped by a tiny village and slept for RMB50 in a ok la hotel (hue not ok in fact, very dirty)...But thats country side and we go for it...

The day after, early breakfast and lets get out of this place ASAP...So we drove for hours in again and again dirty roads...Ah we are approaching highways again, lets give it a try...Yeahhhh, so we gazzzz and we even pass a police car. Quick look at the mirror, shiiiit they follow us with alarm and light on...So we try to speed a bit and for few km seems they disappear but no they are on our shoulder again...Oupss no more petrol as well for Nico and myself, so lets stop at the next station and see whats happen ! Deal ! We will have a special

We will have a special parade until the next exit and then of course a meeting with the head chef, who speaks english...Meeting went well and they show us the right way until the 3 Georges (our destination).

We reached our destination end of afternoon and went for a quick walk to take some pics.
